Dr. Abi Maynard is the heart behind Livewell Animal Hospital of St. Anthony. Known for her surgical skill, deep compassion, and commitment to mentorship, she brings over a decade of experience in both general practice and urgent care veterinary medicine.

Originally from Barbados, Dr. Abi earned her DVM from St. George’s University and completed her clinical training at the University of Minnesota. A recognized leader in the field, she received the Emerging Leader Award from the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association in 2024, and currently serves on the MN Board of Animal Health, championing the well-being of pets across the state.

Dr. Abi is on a mission to reimagine the veterinary experience: where care is personal, pets are treated like family, and clients feel genuinely supported. Her approach blends medical excellence with human connection.

Dr. Abi lives well by walking with her two terrific terriers: Sirius and Rigel, traveling, trying new restaurants in Northeast Minneapolis, and dreaming up ways to help her community live well too. She also cherishes quality time with her parents, whose love and support have been a guiding force throughout her journey.
